Tonic Studios Patterns and Prints Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hi crafty friends I am so exctied to be a part of the blog hop to introduce the new Tonic Studios release : Patterns & Prints. This release is so fun the sets are amazing to put together quick mixed media cards. There are 15 stamps and 14 dies in the Pattern and Prints bundle all of which are awesome to create beautiful textured backgrounds and makes for mixed media cards. Blog Hop list is at the end of this post..happy hopping 🙂

For the background I used a mix of oxides and inks. The colors are salvaged patina, wilted violet, picked raspberry, crackling campfire, spiced marmalade, rusty hinge and fossilized amber. I spritz the panel with water and dried it using the heat tool. Using different images from the stamp set I stamped them randomly on the panel using black archival ink.

Love these fabulous word dies. I layered 3 of them for added dimension with 1 layer of white cardstock offset. I finished off with a few ink splatters and popped up on foam tape and 110 lb base.

For my 2nd card I inked the print using distress picket fence ink. Let it complete dry and when I added the distress spray it created a very cool resist effect. The spray colors I used were salvaged patina ox and spray , crackling campfire ox and spray, rusty hinge spray and antique linen spray. Stamped a few images from the older set Background and Borders using black archival ink.

I created a stencil using a few dies from the current die set and the past Borders die set. With the grid stencil I used ranger crackle paste and the random dots I stenciled with ground espresso.

I created another panel using salvaged patina and used that to cut out the sentiment and distressed the edges using walnut stain. I added ink splatters and popped up the panel onto a foam panel to add dimension.

For my 3rd card I used Distress heavey stock paper. This cardstock is amazing to do mixed media on. It holds up really well. I created the background using ink colors vintage photo, wilted violet, prize ribbon, antique linen and picked raspberry. I created a stencil with the dots die from the Backgrounds and Borders die set.

Using distress black archival ink I stamped images from Patterns and Prints die set and using the stencil I had created with the dots I used crackle paste . Finished with white spltters usuing acrylic gloss white spray.

For the letters I really wanted a little bit of glitter so covered the bottom half with collage medium and covered them with distress glitter.

  1. So many great colors and textures. I’m glad to see the dies cut a proper letter “O” because the intro video doesn’t show that.
