Beautiful Days | Simon Says Stamp

The brand new Beautiful Days release by Simon Says Stamp is available and all the products are absolutley amazing. I am sharing a card I made with the beautiful Rose Winged Butterfly which I created for the Beautiful Days Instagram Hop. Head over to IG@Simonsaysstamp to start the hop and enjoy the amazing inspiration by the awesome makers.
To create the panel I used Distress woodgrain cardstock. I spritz the panel first before applying the sprays and dried in between each layer using Ranger heat tool.

After I was happy with the panel I wanted to show off all the beautiful details of the woodgrain. I found I got amazing results using distress crayons. I scribbled the crayon on lightly and than when over it with my fingers to rub it into the the texture.

I love the new Ideaology transparent layers and knew I wanted to add them to the make. So I cut a circle from the panel and pulled out one of the circle layers Before gluing it in place I did do one other step before which I forgot to take a pic off. I put the transparent layer into my splat box spritz it with resist spray and using my duster sprayed on some rock candy. It gave it a beautiful shimmer. After it completely dried I glued it in place. Just wanted to share little tip about resist spray. Always spray out the nozzle with water otherwise it will clog up. I learned the hard way..lol

After the panel was completely dried I popped it up on a white cardbase.

For the beautiful rose winged butterfly I wanted to use the Tim Holtz black matte cardstock which I did 3 ayers of . I used the sizzix adhesive sheets in between each. Popped up the sentiment strip using SSS foam squares and glued the butterfly in place using collage medium matte.

I hope you liked my step by step. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions. Don’t forget to join in the Instagram Hop starting @simonsaystamp.
