Wildflowers from the Vault | Tim Holtz

Hello friends, I had so much fun creating this fun card using the beautiful Wildflowers from Tim Holtz new vault release with Sizzix. Sharing a very quick tutorial.
I created a simple background using distress ink colours vintage photo, salvaged patina, antique linen and old paper. I did 2 layers of ink blending drying in between. After everything was dry I added a piece of entomology collage paper only to the left side. The best way to tear the collage paper is to wet whatever part of the paper you want to use with a waterbrush first. Glued it on using collage medium.

I added the brick onto the right side of the panel using Tim Holtz Brickwork THS038 and crackle texture paste.

After the paste had dried I went back onto the left side and added some distress ink on top of the collage paper with blending brushes and some water and ink splatters. For the brickwork I put the stencil back on after the paste had completely dried and using a mix of mini inks I went over the paste. I spritzed it with water dried with a heat and added more of the inks. and kept adding until I got the effect I wanted. A complete list of inks I used are in a supply list at the end of the blog.

To show off the cracks in the bricks I went in with a walnut stain crayon using my favourite crafty tool..my finger. Finished off with some splatters of picket fence paint and scroched timber ink.

I die cut the wildflowers in black cardstock and distress watercolor paper. Using the Simon Says Stamp detail round brushes I colored all the flowers. Spritz them with water to add some splatters, dried them with the heat tool. Had to add some rock candy for some very beautiful glitter.

To finish off the card I glued the flowers onto the panel and a couple of the flowers I popped up using foam tape and a few more splatters just for fun 🙂

Thank you so much! I tend to be in too much of a hurry. This definitely shows the kind of beautiful effects I could get if I slowed down and took things step by step. I’m looking forward to trying some of the techniques you demonstrate.
