I had so much fun making this dome using adorable images from Cocoa and Joy stamp and die set. My favorite part of making 3D projects is always working on all the different pieces for a make. For the snowballs I covered the baubles with glossy accents and rock candy.
I painted the base with picket fence distress paint and the trees were colored using a technique by Vicki Evans. I painted the edges with antique linen and after it had dried I sprayed with a mix of green distress sprays and oxides.
I stamped some of the adorable images from Cocoa and Joy using Simon Says Stamp Black Intense ink. Did some watercoloring with a mix of distress inks. I added some highlights using a white jelly rollpen and a some glitter with a spectrum noir sparkle pen.
Now the fun part ..putting the dome together. I used collage medium to stick on mica flakes and started adding all the pieces. I decorated the underside of the dome with glossy accents and mica flakes. I think it gives it more of wintery feel.
Have you started a make and part way through you decide to make a slight change…well that was me. I ended up adding tiny lights on all the trees.
After putting on the dome I added some ribbon on the bottom of the dome along with an idea-ology word plaque which I covered with the picket fence crayon and to finish it off I added some greenery die cuts and holiday bells.
